Chi(X)

X is the Greek letter Chi, the first letters of the Greek words Christou. Chi is the name of our Men's Ministry at Rockbridge. We have chosen this Greek letter to represent who we are and what we are all about. All of these facets are from our mission and core values and can be summed up in the words Christ Men’s Ministry, ^Xmen.

WHO WE ARE

Romans 12:1-2 – Therefore I urge you brethren by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

We are ordinary men who come together for a common cause. We exist to glorify God by presenting our bodies as a sacrifice to God and experiencing life change for extraordinary things.

We live to be ^Xtreme ^Xamples ^X periencing life change through:

        Teaching the next generation

        Exalting the savior

        Affirming the exchanged life

        Missional lifestyle example

        Supporting and encouraging each other

We are men of X, standing together and on a mission in our homes, our church, our workplace and our community.

^Xmen are interested in following Jesus. This is the sole criteria for membership. If you are not a member of Rockbridge, or if you have not yet taken the step of placing personal faith in Christ, you are still very welcome to participate in our activities.

^Xmen are leaders and faithful supporters in the church. Xmen are servants in that same sense that Christ modeled servant-leadership in John 13. Our purpose is to serve God in humility; to serve our families in love; and to serve our church and community in faithfulness.

MISSION

The mission of ^Xmen is to:

5.   •      provide avenues for Christian service and outreach

7.   •      offer a network of support and encouragement for participants

The Bible tells us in James 1:22 "Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only…" This truth is central to X, and in fulfilling our mission we seek to fulfill the call of James 1:22.
